The activities of Murray & Roberts Holdings Ltd are undertaken through a number of subsidiaries and joint ventures in the construction and engineering sectors. DEC is a beneficiary of the Letsema Sizwe Broad based community trust. 
Nedbank Group Ltd
DEC is a participant in the Nedbank Eyethu Corporate Scheme, and holds an effective 0,061% of the Nedbank Group, one of the big four banking groups in South Africa. 
Pretoria Portland Cement Ltd (PPC) Ltd
PPC, its subsidiaries and associate companies operate in Southern Africa as manufacturers of cement products, lime and limestone. DEC is one of two community service groups participating in this BEE transaction with a stake of 0.75%. 
Armadillo Concepts
This company started with a simple idea of providing load-bin covers for any make of vehicle and developed into roll-tops and tuck-doors. DEC has a 30% shareholding in Armadillo. 
The Biovac Consortium
They won the bid in November 2001 to be the Government’s strategic equity partner to take up 60% of the equity in the Biovac Institute, the State’s vaccine production facilities in Johannesburg and Cape Town. DEC holds a 7.5% share in the Consortium. 
Fabkomp (Pty) Ltd
This automotive manufacturing company is based in the Eastern Cape and involved in components and body building for the vehicle industry. Up to 12% of their workforce are people with disabilities. DEC holds 30% of Fabkomp. 
Foskor
One of the world’s largest producers of phosphate and phosphoric acid, Foskor is proudly South African, but internationally focused. DEC Holdco holds 5.5% in the Manyoro Consortium which holds 15% in Foskor. 
Icapital (Pty) Ltd
DEC holds 10,5% of icapital, which is a niche investment house that provides both Corporate Finance Advisory Services and Private Equity Fund Management Services. 
Kuzuko Lodge
Kuzuko is a private game reserve in the Greater Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape operated by Legacy Hotels. Facilities at the lodge were designed disability friendly and attract an untapped international disability tourism market. DEC is the lead empowerment partner holding a 24% stake. 
LARIMAR GROUP – Putco (Public Utility Transport Corporation) Ltd
The public passenger company employs just over 3 300 people of which 1 800 are drivers. The company operates a fleet of over 1 600 buses, travels 90 million kilometres and carries 73 million passengers per annum. DEC holds 2% of PUTCO. 
Sphere Holdings (Pty) Ltd
Sphere Holdings is engaged in strategic advisory services and fund management. They invest in the industrial and financial services sectors. DEC holds a 5% stake in Sphere. 
Taquanta Investment Holdings
DEC ultimately holds 22.33% of
Taquanta Investments Holdings. The company develops financial solutions through asset management, treasury solutions and securities. 
Total South Africa (Pty) Ltd
Total South Africa is the largest French investment in SA with interests in the petroleum industry both in retail and commercial and industrial markets. DEC holds a 6% stake in Tosaco (Pty) Ltd, a broad-based empowerment consortium which is a 25% shareholder in Total SA. DEC is therefore an effective 1,5% of Total SA. |
